Sven is a programm that can control the
special buttons on your multimedia keyboard. Keys such as:
"WWW", "E-mail", volume ,CD-ROM control buttons, and others. Moreover,
if you have an ordinary keyboard, with
Sven you can emulate media-keys using multi-keys combinations,
for example: Ctrl+w - to start a browser and so on.
Sven is based on gtk+2, has been tested on Linux, and should
work on *BSD systems. The program lets you
adjust any model of keyboard, has a GUI front end and works
with any WM.
Sven is licened under the terms of the GNU General Public
License (GPL),
version 2.0 or later, as published by the Free Software Foundation.

The program snapall which
allows to do screenshots of all window, select windows or select area
of the screen. It is possible appoint the separate button to each
function for fast removal of the screen At present it can to keep all
this in 3 formats jpeg, png, ico.

Now it began to work more stably (if it has taken off please inform me
as well as in what appendix it has occured).
There was a function of converting in other allocation of the allocated
piece of the text, normal display of Russian letters in XOSD, plus
small trifles and elimination of bugs:-)

Now the window of adjustments normally works in any expansion. There
was an adjustment of language by default, switching-off of the emerging
indicator of language. And some elimination of bugs.

26 august 2005 Next release
There was new version Sven-0.4.3 which by opportunities the test
version is similar to much known program for Windows Punto Switcher, it
meanwhile only, on this demands completions. So all problems, offers,
wishes write to me on mail (more |at | irpin.com).
It already is able:
- automatically to correct an allocation of the keyboard from Russian
and English at a wrong allocation of the keyboard, at present, it
understands about 10 000 Russian words, and 9 500 English words.
- it is possible in manual to switch in any allocation which it is
loaded, by pressing button Break or other any which you, will set there
is a switching on a circle;
- by pressing button Scroll Lock or other any which you, will set there
is a switching a word in the top register, the bottom register, and the
first letter the top register and the others in bottom;
- supports Auto Correction which allows to correct many mistakes at
input of the text. For example "edenitsa" it will be replaced on
"unit". Works also as well as same function Word, only already in all
graphic appendices Linux. To adjust the list Auto Completion it is
possible in a window of adjustments;
- has the indicator-switch of a condition of the keyboard which
remembers the condition for each window;
- instead of an icon with the image, there was a floating window with
statistics of typing, hours - a stop watch, and the indicator of the
keyboard;
- and also small trifles and completions.

New version of sven - 0.4.2 released. Implemented key emulation, some
small bugfixes.
23 june 2005 New enhanced version
New version of sven - 0.4.1 released. There is a fix for loading of old
format of configuration files. Also mouse support is implemented and
added time plugin (to adjust format of displayed time).

Old format of configuration files is not supported, so you must remove
(replace) old ~/.sven directory before starting sven.

Hi all. While Eugeniy Morenko is be absent, I will try to support this
resource. First of all the site was re-designed, english content has
been added, and grammar errors in russian version have been fixed ;),
documentation and development information has been updated.

Fixed many errors. Such as disappearing tray icon, font selection and
so on. If your window manager does not have support for a tray, you may
execute "sven -i" and a movable icon will be added to the screen. Added
adjustments for CD, mixer and so on.
13 april 2004 ERROR: Default font not found
If you get this message then:
Edit file "xosd.c" and change the font:

If this does not help, then try other X-fonts that installed on your
system. Do not forget to recompile the sources.
